Society of Physics Students

General Memberships

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in Physics. Payment of annual dues grants National and Chapter membership in the Society of Physics Students and a one-year subscription to Physics Today, The Journal of Undergraduate Research in Physics, and The SPS Newsletter. A member's Chapter-related time demands depend heavily upon their level of participation. In addition, we ask that each member pays local dues of $5 per semester to cover computer maintanance.

Sigma Pi Sigma | Honor Society Membership

Sigma Pi Sigma, the Physics Honor Society, is an integral part of the SPS. All of the following are currently required for eligibility:

3.5 or higher GPA in science and math related classes.

Completion of the lower division two-course physics sequence plus their
corresponding labs, or equivalent.

Completion of 9 additional hours of upper division physics coursework.
