SSDP @ UTD stands for Students for Sensible Drug Policy at The University of Texas at Dallas. We are a group of students, staff and faculty members at UT-Dallas dedicated to the advocacy of sensible drug policy in local, state and national governments of the United States of America. We oppose the current racial, economic and politically motivated "Drug War" waged by the US government for its adverse effects on society, both domestically and internationally.
SSDP @ UTD is affiliated with SSDP National but we operate as an autonomous organization with our own agenda and policies. More information can be found at their website.
SSDP @ UTD is open to anyone affiliated with the University of Texas at Dallas, including students, staff and faculty. We hold meetings semi-regularly to coordinate our events which include, but are not limited to, flyer campaigns, voter registration campaigns, movie nights, speaker events, etc... Pay attention to our announcements page and flyers on campus for upcoming meeting times and events. We also maintain a mailing list and message board.
We also maintain a collection of essays, personal experiences and articles relating to Drug Policy and The War On Drugs and accept submissions from everyone.
We are interested in collaborating with other UTD organizations and similar organizations at neighboring universities and college campuses.
