Editorial Board

The Journal of Social Science Research (JSSR) is committed to helping Graduate Students prepare for their future careers by providing two valuable resources. First, our goal is to provide helpful comments for improving the research. Second, we hope to familiarize Graduate Students with the publishing process.

Who

We are an electronic (internet-based) journal that welcomes papers in all areas of social science: political economy, sociology, political science, criminology, public affairs/administration, GIS, and economics. Articles are reviewed under a double-blind review process.

General Information

All submissions are welcomed, and we are not exclusive to UTD graduate students. Published papers will appear as a discussion paper, which may still be submitted to a professional, field journal.

 

Published papers are available in full-text access for free.

Submitting Articles

Papers should be submitted to the Editor at jssr.submit@gmail.com or jssr.editor@gmail.com. Please include:

·        Name(s) of and contact information for the author(s)

·        Title of the paper

·        Two copies of your paper in PDF format, one with the authors names, and one without

·        Short abstract of your paper (under 200 words)

 

Please contact the Editor again if receipt of your paper is not acknowledged within one month.

If your article is accepted for publication we will request to prepare the file in accordance with our formatting requirements. Find the submission requirements in the Paper Submission link. Publications will follow shortly after acceptance of the article.

Agreement between the Journal and the Copyright owner

The agreement between the Electronic Journal of Social Science Research (the “Journal”) and the copyright owner (the “Owner”) of a paper (the “Paper”) includes the following

  1. The Owner warrants the she or he has the full power and authority to enter into this Agreement and to grant the rights granted in this Agreement.
  2. The Owner hereby grants to the Journal a worldwide, irrevocable, royalty free license to publish or distribute the Paper, to enter into arrangements with others to publish and distribute the Paper, and to archive the Paper.
  3. Both the Journal and the Owner agree that further publications of the Work, with the same or substantially the same content as it appears in the Journal do not require acknowledgement of prior publication in the Journal.

Why Submit A Paper?

Any research paper comes as a result of going through the process of gathering, interpreting, and documenting information, as well as developing and organizing ideas and conclusions into the final project. We hope that the opportunity of writing and publishing papers at JSSR improves anyone’s ability of critical thinking and prepares applicants for submitting papers to traditional journals which in the end becomes an extremely valuable experience.

 

The Electronic Journal of Social Science Research is a free web-based journal serves as an extension of the Social Science Graduate Student Association (SSGSA) at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). It relies on the generosity and hard work of many people involved in its operation. The papers are carefully reviews by the editorial board.

 

The main web site of the Journal is hosted by the School of Social Science at UTD. The School has generously supplied the server space.
