Meet the OSSA Team
Our initiatives are achieved and sustained through the efforts of dozens of peer and professional tutors, supplemental instructors, teaching assistants, student workers, and UTD faculty who work part-time or donate their time and talents in one or more settings in support of the OSSA mission. After serving as Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost for Collin College, Dr. Chesney joined UT Dallas to focus his energy and expertise on student success initiatives, including the GEMS Center. His current responsibilities include coordination of academic success and support services; facilitation of university-wide academic program, operations, and core curriculum assessment; and coordination of accreditation reaffirmation processes. |

| [profile] | [profile] | As a long standing member of the UTD community and Math Lab, Leszek has been puzzling over students' mental machinations as they delve or dabble in the world and art of problem solving. While Leszek aims to nurture students' innate ingenuity, he also hopes to dislodge certain conditioned mental habits inhibiting creative but clear thinking. Leszek coordinates UTD's GEMS Math Lab, specializes in helping students with statistics, teaches preparatory courses for the GMAT and GRE, and instructs developmental math courses. |

Sally has been a member of the UTD community for many years as staff, student and faculty. She received both her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and her MAT in Science Education from UTD. She has been assisting students as an academic advisor for several years, and teaches Freshman Year Experience courses. Her dream is for every UTD student to experience great academic and personal success! |

| Jenny is finishing up her MS in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems majoring in Teaching and Learning with Technology at UNT and BSU. She is focusing on Instructional Design using emerging technology such as virtual environments and MashUps. Jenny is also involved in UTD's island simulations in Second Life and an active member of TxDLA's SL committee. | Elaine greets students as they enter the OSSA office in the Conference Center. She schedules students for appointments with the Math, Statistics or Writing tutors and makes the OSSA office operate smoothly. She enjoys the rapport that she has developed with the students and the other staff members. |
Sheron assists with keeping the front office of OSSA running efficiently and is backup for the front desk and registering the students for the writing, math and stats appointments or answering their questions. She also handles OSSA emails and various aspects of tests such as Quick THEA, GRE as well as GMAT prep courses. |

Cindi has worked part time for the OSSA office for 10 years. She is here on Monday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings to help students schedule Math, Statistic and Writing appointments. Cindi also keeps track of attendance in all Supplemental Instruction classes. |
