GEMS Center Hours & Offerings
GEMS Center Computing Lab and Math Lab (CN 1.206)
The GEMS Lab is a proctored, secure environment supporting a limited array of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) courses. All students entering for any reason are required to present a valid UTD Comet Card prior to admittance, and personal technology (e.g. cell phones, MP3 players, pagers, other wireless devices, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
In addition, no food, beverages, water bottles and/or other beverage containers are permitted. Spilled beverages create a potential safety hazard due to the numerous electrical connections and computers. Spilled beverages and food particles also shorten the life of computer equipment, furniture and carpeting, and attract ants and other pests, all of which increase maintenance costs which we would rather put toward GEMS student success initiatives. Fortunately, the Conference Center lobby and adjacent outdoor spaces provide excellent areas in which to take a break from GEMS Lab activities.
