Test Preparation and Administration
Note: Examinees for all OSSA-administered tests are required to show proof of identification, and absolutely no electronic devices (e.g. cell phones, pagers, PDAs, etc.), purses or bags of any kind, and food or beverage are allowed in the testing room. The OSSA is not responsible for items left outside the testing area.
What are the tests the OSSA administers?
Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA®)

Prior to registering, students are strongly urged to take the THEA Practice Test and visit our Online Resources page to prepare.
Quick THEA Test*
UTD periodically offers the Quick THEA Test which requires pre-registration through the OSSA in CN 1.126.For questions about Quick THEA Test registration and scheduling, call the OSSA at 972.883.6707 or send an email message.
Cut-off of signing up for the Quick THEA is at noon the week-day (Monday-Friday) before the test is administered.
For each of the following test dates*, examinees must report to the testing location no later than the time noted in parentheses. You must wait 30 days between Quick THEA tests.

The OSSA offers Math placement testing during regularly scheduled student orientations for students who intend to take Pre-Calculus, Applied Calculus, or Calculus I. Students should consult with an academic advisor and visit the Math Placement website for detailed information.

For which tests does the OSSA offer preparation?
The OSSA offers GMAT and GRE preparation courses which meet ten times on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings, respectively, for three hours each to review, refresh and introduce the necessary skills, strategies and approaches for these graduate school entry examinations. Instruction time is structured to cover all sections of the test. Registration fees includes the textbooks and other study materials.
Pre-registration is required; due to current to the demand, registrants are enrolled on a "first come, first served" basis upon fee payment. Registration closes on or before noon the day before the course starts.
