Pep Band
The UT Dallas Pep Band performs at a variety of functions throughout the school year. Recent performances include Scholars Day, chess tournaments, basketball games, and the Student Union noon series.

Brass, woodwinds, and percussionists interested in joining should email Dr. Winston Stone at winston.stone@utdallas.edu.
Since a minor in music can be earned at UT Dallas with a minimum of 18 credit hours, participation in the Pep Band can benefit any student who wants to pursue that academic route.
The Pep Band meets Thursdays, 7-8 p.m. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to play. This is a one credit course for students.
About the Director
Dr. Winston Stone is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Music and the Arts at UT Dallas, and Director of the Pep Band.
Winston Stone graduated with a Bachelor of Music in music education and a Masters of Music in clarinet performance from State University of New York. Dr. Stone received his Ph.D. from UT Dallas in Aesthetic Studies.
Originally from New York City, Dr. Stone has performed at Carnegie Recital Hall, Town Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and in numerous off-Broadway theaters.
Other credits include principal clarinet in the Brooklyn Opera Society, Cosmopolitan Symphony Orchestra, Manhattan Savoyards, Atlantic Wind Symphony, and concurrently a solfeggist for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
Dr. Stone has performed with Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony, Fort Worth-Dallas Ballet, Richardson Symphony, Dallas Opera, Casa Manana Musicals, Dream Collectors, Texas Winds, and has also performed at the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Arundel Music Festival, Arundel Castle, England.
Recent performances include Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, and Marvin Hamlisch.
