Internships with local high technology companies are an essential component of the MSAP program. The department arranges these training posts in order to provide exposure to a high tech workplace for students with little or no previous industrial experience. In the immediate neighborhood of UTD there are companies of all sizes engaged in research, development, and manufacturing in the areas of semiconductors, imaging technology, industrial chemistry, telecommunications, computers, and biotechnology.
Internships may include tuition reimbursement and the possibility for a permanent position upon award of the MSAP degree.
Previous student internships have included:
- UT Southwestern Medical Center
- Texas Instruments
- Raytheon
- Zyvex Corp.
- Dallas Semiconductor
