Welcome to The University of Texas at Dallas Police Department's (UTDPD)
website and virtual headquarters. Our intentions are to provide you with up-to-date
information about our agency and our role in the community. Safety and Security are
a part of our Core Values. We take our Department motto, "Courtesy - Service - Protection"
seriously and endeavor for excellence in all we do. Whether you are a student,
faculty, staff or guest to UTD, we strive to make your stay on campus a safe and pleasant
experience. Utilizing our website to gather information prior to arriving on campus or
to access online forms or keep updated on our current news and activities is just one way
we make our services available to you.
The UT Dallas Police Department is comprised of commissioned and non-commissioned personnel.
All commissioned Police Officers are state certified through the Texas Commission on Law
Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE). Our non-commissioned officers enhance
the services we provide by assisting in calls for service; such as escorts and vehicle assists;
traffic and parking control; building security checks and special events. The Department employs
dozens of other professionals in our state-of-the-art Communications / 911 Dispatch Center as
well as administrative support staff. Our agency has a Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation
Division, Communications Division, Crime Prevention Unit, Training Unit and several other important
components.
The UT Dallas Police Department is a fully functional, modern law enforcement agency.
The Department is open and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All of our Police Officers
have broad jurisdiction and are empowered and equipped to respond and investigate all calls for
service, criminal offenses and non-criminal incidents on campus; to include the nine apartment
complexes of the Waterview Park Apartments.
Please feel free to browse our site and if you have any questions or feedback on how we can
better serve you or the community please send us an email and we will acknowledge your request
promptly.
