Pre-Health Student Organizations

Get Involved!

PHATStudent organizations provide venues for pre-health students to help each other study, select classes wisely, find volunteer and work opportunities, and develop friendships.

HPAC recommends that every pre-health student remain active in one or more of these organizations while at UT Dallas.

clubAlpha Epsilon Delta (contact Madison Wright)
Alpha Epsilon Delta is the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society, dedicated to excellence in preprofessional health studies. The Society welcomes all pre-health students.  AED offers opportunities for professional development, social connections, and service to UTD and the community.

MCAT Article Club (contact Tiffani Carter)
MCAT
By providing an academic forum for discussion of scholarly journals in scientific fields, the Article Club helps students to practice high level reading and to stay current on health issues and technology.

Open to students pursing any health professon!

Molding Doctors (contact Ric White)
Molding Doctors (MD) connects pre-med students to course planning, tutoring, MCAT preparation, volunteer and mentorship opportunities, and career planning.
PDA

Pre-Dental Student Association (contact Rafa Mobarak)
The Pre-Dental Association (PDA) organizes group volunteering, dental school visits, and social events for its members.  PDA also brings in guest speakers and provides help with the DAT and dental school applications.



Pre-Optometry Professional Society POPS

The Pre-Optometry Professional Society (POPS) brings in guest speakers and organizes social events for its members.  POPS also helps students to contact optometrists for volunteering and shadowing.



PPAPre-Pharmacy Association (contact Jennifer Tong)
Students interested in pharmacy comprise the Pre-Pharmacy Association.



Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA)

HOSA(contact Karan Patel)
HOSA enriches student interest in health care through exposure to health professions, volunteer events, and medical-based competitions.






Post Baccalaureate Pre-Health SocietyPBPHS
(contact The Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Society (PBPHS) at UT Dallas is for college graduates who find themselves re-training to become health professionals. PBPHS helps these “post-bacc” students to find information, study partners, great friends, and a social life, even though we’re all busy with work and our families.

Neuroscience Student Association (contact Lindsey Massey)
The Neuroscience Student Association provides exposure to the clinical, academic, research, and industry-oriented aspects of neuroscience.  NSA is a great place to find out about upcoming events in neuroscience, medicine, and related fields.

Students interested in veterinary science comprise the Pre-Veterinary Society.




Unite for Sight (contact Pauras Memom)UfS
About 80% of blindness occurs in developing countries. Unite for Sight seeks committed volunteers for community and international projects. Trained UFS volunteers conduct vision screenings and education programs in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and schools. UFS also raises funds and runs eyeglasses drives.

Open to ALL UT Dallas students.
JAMP
Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP)
JAMP is a special program created to support and encourage highly qualified, economically disadvantaged students pursuing medical education.
