Group X

Exercise in a group! Rather than jump on a machine or go for a run, gather some friends and get your workout by moving to the beat of your favorite songs. Trained instructors lead the workout through a variety of movement combinations that exercises your muscles while you have fun at the same time. Whether it be bootcamp, yoga, cardio dance fitness or Zumba, choose something you like and join the group!

Group X Pass

Semester Pass Individual Pass
$50 access to all classes $3 access to any individual class
  • Summer 2016 passes are good for May 31st - August 6th.
  • Classes begin on Tuesday May 31st, 2016.
  • Classes end on Saturday August 6th, 2016.
  • No classes on Independence Day (July 4th)
  • There is a $20 card replacement fee for a lost or stolen Group X pass
  • All passes are non-refundable beginning June 7th, 2016.
  • Participants must show proof of pass and ID before entering class.
  • Sponsored guests will be required to pay the $2 Activity Center / Rec Center West fee as well as a $3 group exercise fee for a single class.
  • Community Users will be required to pay the $5 Activity Center / Rec Center West fee as well as the $3 group exercise fee for a single class.
  • Classes in residential areas are for area residents and semester pass holders only.
  • Passes will be prorated to $25 beginning July 11th, 2016.

Class Descriptions

Beginner Bootcamp - Want to experience boot camp training, but haven’t worked out in a while? A bit more instructional and focusing on proper techniques, this class will give you all of the same benefits as regular bootcamp while it prepares you for your next level.

Bootcamp - Break past personal boundaries in this supportive environment designed to expand your comfort zone. Interval cardiovascular training, weights, and a variety of other fun exercise toys are used in this class.

BOSU Fun - Change up your boring old workout routine with a BOSU ball. The BOSU (both sides utilized) ball makes exercise extra challenging. With a flat platform on one side and a rubber dome on the other, the tool adds an element of instability to your workouts, forcing you to use your core to stay steady.

BOSU Yoga - Add a whole new dimension to your mind-body training with yoga poses using the BOSU. Challenge your balance, engage your concentration, and increase your flexibility with this unusual format.

Buns & Guns - This workout features glute and arm exercises that will alternately target each area avoiding over-fatiguing one region so you will be able to get an efficient and effective workout in one.

Butts n' Guts - An entire hour dedicated to building core strength, toning legs, and sculpting your lower body.

Cardio Dance Fit - Get ready to move it, move it! Learn the hottest dance moves in this cardio style dance class. We spice it up by adding circuits, so you get a great full-body workout.

Core Crush - Get that flat belly, but more importantly improve your posture and balance, while guarding against low back pain in this 30 minute strengthening class.

Cycle 6 Pack - This cardiovascular butt-kicking workout takes you on a sweaty ride, but you won’t need a helmet. Great cardio, but kind to your joints, with super core work sprinkled in just to make things more interesting.

HIIT Fit - High-intensity interval training is an exercise strategy which alternates short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. Burn a ton of calories and boost your metabolism in this cardio intensive class, and top it off with some strength conditioning to make you a fit hiit!

Hip - Hop Cardio - Do you hate to work out, but love music and dance? Boost your heart rate and have tons of fun while you learn some cool moves.

Pilates Mat - This mind-body exercise helps the regular participant develop a longer, leaner body. Focusing on strengthening the muscles of the hips, back, abdominals, and glutes, the exercises look simple but require stabilization of the torso and focused effort.

Tabata Express - Want a quick workout that you KNOW delivers results? Tabata Express uses short intervals of extremely intense work in 4-minute sets to rev up your metabolism as never before! You will experience increased calorie burn, better muscle definition, and improved endurance just by giving this 30-minute workout everything you’ve got.

Tai Chi - Tai chi is an ancient mind-body Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise which promotes serenity. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.

Tango - Beginner and Intermediate -The Tango class is for anyone interested in learning the tango-era dances. Rhythm and footwork will be covered, with a focus on technique and musicality.

Yoga - Power Flow - Practice cardiovascular and meditative Yoga postures correctly to lengthen the muscles, open jammed joints and practice breathing more effectively and effortlessly.
