ALTA Publications

ALTA distributes all its publications to members free of charge.
The publications are also available to members electronically on
the ALTA website as soon as they are published. Past issues of
Translation Review and Annotated Books Received are uploaded
to the website and made available to the public free of charge.

Translation Review is a forum for translators, translation reviews, articles on the art and craft of translation, and publisher profiles.

Annotated Books Received lists recent books in translation together with a brief annotation. Each issue covers about 300 book titles organized by language. ABR comes with an index of translators and a directory of publishers of translations.

The ALTA Newsletter contains current information on membership, grants, conferences, prizes, and other matters of interest to the profession. "Members in the News" features book and journal publications by ALTA members, as well as readings and lectures of ALTA members. Under "Notices to Members," ALTA members find information on grant and fellowship deadlines and calls for submissions.

The ALTA Guides to Literary Translation is an ongoing series of brochures addressing specific issues of interest to literary translators at all stages in their careers. Each Guide provides practical information, personal advice from established translators, and lists of useful references and on-line resources. As each Guide becomes available, it can be read or downloaded from the ALTA website.
