Internal Financial Assistance
Graduate Student Assistantships
Through the School of Arts and Humanities, a number of Research
Assistants work in the Center for Translation Studies. These students
participate in the planning and execution of daily and long-term
Center research projects. In this way, they gain first-hand knowledge
of resources for translation research, have practical acquaintance
with current ideas in Translation Studies, and begin to build
connections with scholars and literary translators.
Graduate students in Translation Studies may also work as Teaching
Assistants in the Humanities. All are invited to apply for financial
assistance through the School
of Arts and Humanities and The University of Texas at Dallas
Financial
Aid Office.
Translation Studies Supplemental Travel Grants
The Center for Translation Studies awards grants to graduate students
giving professional presentations on topics within Translation
Studies. These should be used to supplement grants the student
has received from the School of Arts and Humanities for conference
travel. To apply, the student sends a copy of the School of Arts
and Humanities application for travel funds to the Center administrative
assistant. Once A&H writes the award letter, the Center will
determine whether to award a supplemental grant. Students are
reimbursed using the same form filed with A&H; no additional
paperwork is necessary.
For the year 2006 - 2007, the Center will award two grants of
up to $250 each.
