The Craft of Reviewing Translations
The reviewing of works from other languages into English is one of the most neglected areas of Translation Studies. The Center for Translation Studies addresses this failure by conducting graduate workshops on the craft of reviewing translation in order to develop meaningful strategies for assessing the quality and success of existing translations. Students are particularly encouraged to study several existing versions of the same text to articulate the specific interpretive perspective that the translator has materialized in the English translation.
