Nanotechnology Networking Group Lunch: April 7

The Nanotechnology Group is forming a nanotechnology networking group for the north Dallas region. The group’s first event will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 7 at the BJ’s Restaurant located at 1101 North Central Expressway in Plano. This group is for anyone who is interested in nanotechnology in the north Dallas region, including managers, engineers, scientists, venture capitalists, lawyers, university students preparing to graduate or are currently doing nanotechnology research, managers and engineers seeking employment in the nanotechnology field. Getting Hired for Your Next Project: April 11

The IEEE is hosting a meeting at 6:15pm on Monday, April 11 in the Holiday Inn Select Located at 1655 North Central Expressway. Tad McIntosh, the president of Hum Cap LP will be speaking. Education and Career Opportunities in the Video Gaming Industry: April 19

The Society of Women Engineers will be having a meeting at 6:15pm on Tuesday, April 19 in the Board Room of Nedley’s Restaurant located at 1801 North Plano Road. Atussa Simon, the CEO of Artemis Software and a Professor at the Guildhall at SMU will be discussing education and career opportunities in the video gaming industry.

Ms Simon was one of The Guildhall's original staff members, invited by the university to work with the Guildhall team to help develop a vision for is graduate level program in computer gaming. Her game design experience began with the TRS-80 COCO II in 1986. Since then she has participated in a variety of game development projects. She considers herself a jack-of-all-trades, having worked on games as a game tester, an artist, a level designer, a game designer and a game producer. Artemis Software's last game title was purchased by a fortune 500 company, and the company is now focusing on furthering the art of Machinima as a force in cinematics as well as movie production.

Lunch with Congressman Joe Barton (Apr. 29)

The Medical Device Action Alliance is hosting an event from 10:30am - 1:30pm on April 29th at the Wyndam Hotel in Arlington featuring a keynote presentation by Congressman Joe Baron, the chairman of the House Committee on Energy & Commerce - principal House committee responsible over matters relating to commerce, public health and marketplace interests and a panel discussion on financial aspects of medical company start-ups.
