The Charles A. Dana Center
The Charles A. Dana Center, a research unit of the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin, supports K–16 teachers and leaders working to implement high academic standards.
The Center’s primary focus is improving mathematics and science education in Texas.
The Dana Center has conducted numerous qualitative and quantitative studies on the performance of Texas public schools. The Center is the recipient of a National Science Foundation grant for the Advanced Mathematics for All Project (A-MAP): Technology-Mediated Support for Teachers Throughout their Careers.

The Ray Marshall Center
The Ray Marshall Center (RMC) is a research unit of the University of Texas at Austin’s Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. The Center conducts applied, interdisciplinary research to improve our understanding of labor markets, to foster improvements in human resource development, and to educate and train human resource professionals.
The RMC conducts many research projects that are directly relevant to the ERC, including the National Assessment of Vocational Education 2-State Study and the Central Texas High School Graduate Data Center.
The RMC has developed expertise with complex data comprised of linked, longitudinal, individual-level files from over 16 government programs and has well-established procedures for accessing, storing, and analyzing confidential data.

The National Center for Educational Achievement
The National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) is a non-profit organization and the national sponsor of Just for the Kids (JFTK). NCEA’s goal is to support efforts to reach excellence in education by raising academic expectations and promoting practices that will help more students reach college/career readiness.
Major NCEA strategies and initiatives include:
- promoting the improvement of state data collection and the creation of statewide longitudinal student information systems through the Data Quality Campaign (DQC);
- conducting research using longitudinal student data to learn what works to raise student achievement;
- identifying consistently high-performing schools and school systems and their practices; and
- developing resources that help educators get more students ready for college and skilled careers.

The Institute for Demographic and Socioeconomic Research
The Institute for Demographic and Socioeconomic Research (IDSER), located at the University of Texas at San Antonio, is the administrative home for the Texas State Data Center (TSDC) and the Office of the State Demographer. Among its ongoing duties are the provision of annual estimates of the populations of Texas counties and places, administration of the TSDC program which directly serves 50,000 users per year, and a website accessed approximately 40 million times per year.
IDSER is also a major research center in the area of socioeconomic analysis, conducting research on disparities in higher education and the implications for the Texas economy.
