Texas Schools Project has replaced its VPN (Virtual Private Network) and firewall servers. This upgrade will improve usability by allowing researchers at remote access sites to connect to the TSP VPN using the same login and password they use to access other TSP servers. It also enhances security by permitting use of improved encryption, and streamlines our perimeter network architecture.

There will be a systems maintenance outage for May 23 to configure additional disk space and make updates to Texas Schools Project's firewalls.

Texas Schools Project has taken delivery of the hardware for the planned compute environment, a Cray CX-1. The system has been configured and is currently being tested; we hope to move it into production later this summer.
