Rhetoric 1101 Instructors
Pia K. Jakobsson
Position at UT Dallas: Ph.D. candidate, History of Ideas
College Alma Mater: Stockholm University, Sweden
Major in College: English Literature
Graduate Degree: M.A. in Humanities
Favorite thing about teaching Rhetoric 1101: The things I learn from my students.
The biggest lesson I learned as a freshman: Being smart is not enough — you do have to study, too.
My favorite thing about UT Dallas: The library staff.
My hobbies: Photography, cultural anthropology, cultural history and life.
One book I think everyone should read is: Usually it’s whatever I am reading this week. Currently it’s The Coffee House: A Cultural History by Markman Ellis, which is about early modern Europe.
Something that people may not know about me: I am one of the most befuddled and addle-pated smart people I know.
