Rhetoric 1101 Instructors

Eric Welgehausen

Position at UT Dallas: Assistant director, academic advising

College Alma Mater: The University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas

Major in College: History

Graduate Degree: Counseling and student development

Favorite thing about teaching Rhetoric 1101: Having my students (undeclared majors) in my class. It allows me to get to know them on many different levels.

The biggest lesson I learned as a freshman: Being involved on campus is key to being satisfied with your college experience.

My favorite thing about UT Dallas: UT Dallas is small enough that it is easy to get to know a wide variety of students, faculty and staff.

My hobbies: Hiking, reading and watching college sports.

One book I think everyone should read is: One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.

Something that people may not know about me: I played trombone in my college marching band.
