List some clubs or organizations you are involved in at UT Dallas.
I am a Terry Scholar, and have been involved in the the UTD Dance Club as well as the Neuroscience Student Association. I am also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

List some of your hobbies.
Photography, writing, cooking, reading, foreign films, piano, traveling

List something unique about yourself.
I competed in Iron Chef like culinary competitions during high school. I have also witnessed a live autopsy.

Why did you decide to become a First-Year Leader?
I wanted to have the opportunity to meet new students as well as work one on one with a UTD professor. I hope to make an incoming student's first year experience much better than mine was.

What advice do you have for the freshman class coming into UT Dallas?
Never, ever procrastinate. No good will ever come of it. You have to finish your work eventually, so you might as well do it now.

What do you wish you did during your freshman year that you didn’t?
I wish I would havebeen more social and interacted more with my fellow Phase 8 residents.

Why did you decide to attend UT Dallas?
Not only did I receive a scholarship, UTD has a wonderful neuroscience program. I absolutely love the size of our university. It not only fosters close relationships with peers, it enables one to develop personal relationships with the amazing faculty.

What has been your favorite or best UT Dallas experience so far?
I have had the opportunity to work with many professors, researching in their labs. Not only has it helped me define my career path, I’ve learned many critical skills that cannot be taught in a classroom.

What did you learn about college life that you didn’t know before?
I learned that nothing can hold you back. Once you enter college, your future is dependent upon your actions. There will be no one to take responsibility if you mess up.

What do you like to do to unwind after class?
Try out new recipes, read a good book, go to the gym
