What do you like about living on campus?
I like managing my own time and activities.
List some clubs or organizations you are involved in at UT Dallas.
Collegium V, FOCUS, A Modest Proposal, Building Senate & Chemistry Student Association.
List some of your hobbies.
I’m a musician. I play guitar and sing in a band called The Family Business. I enjoy water sports, snow skiing, sports, brawl, reading (when I have time). I used to play a lot of practical jokes on my friends. Hanging out with friends and my family.
List something unique about yourself.
I have a twin sister. No, we are not identical.
Why did you decide to become a First-Year Leader?
I have loved having an FYL in my RHET 1101 class, and really learned a lot from her. I want to help other freshmen experience something.
What advice do you have for the freshman class coming into UT Dallas?
Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way! UTD is a great place to experience new things. There are just so many cultural, research, leadership and other educational opportunities…you’d be crazy to sit in your apartment all day.
What do you wish you did during your freshman year that you didn’t?
I wish I had been more involved in organizations and more focused on school. But, your freshman year will inevitably be filled with trials and errors until you figure out how to live on your own and balance responsibilities.
What do you like about UT Dallas?
I like how student focused it is, the faculty and staff especially. Their main concern is always the student body.
Why did you decide to attend UT Dallas?
Honestly, it just felt right as soon as I walked onto the campus. I think it was how different it is as far as public universities go. The people here are focused on different things than students at other public universities.
What has been your favorite or best UT Dallas experience so far?
Living on campus in the apartments. I still get to be part of a community, but having my own room as allowed me to keep the same hobbies that I had growing up, like recording music.
What did you learn about college life that you didn’t know before?
You have much more time (if you live on campus) since you aren’t driving to school every day. But you also spend more of it studying if you know what’s good for you.
