What do you like about living on campus?
I loved decorating and getting to be more independent.

List some clubs or organizations you are involved in at UT Dallas.
I am a Maverick on campus and in Gamma Sigma Sigma.

List some of your hobbies.
I love to draw and paint and I am very crafty in general. Baking is definitely another one of my favorite pastimes.

List something unique about yourself.
I am bilingual. I speak English and Farsi.

Why did you decide to become a First-Year Leader?
I wanted to be a mentor to students who are brand new to this school. I was just in the situation they are in and I really want to help them make the right decisions for their freshman year.

What advice do you have for the freshman class coming into UT Dallas?
I would tell them to not blow off their freshman year. College is not nearly as easy as high school was and they really need to start off with a high GPA to be able to get by in the rest of their college careers.

What do you wish you did during your freshman year that you didn’t?
I wish I would have joined more groups and gotten more involved.

What do you like about UT Dallas?
I enjoy how close you can get to the faculty at UT Dallas. The classes are so small so it is so easy to get acquainted with your teachers.

Why did you decide to attend UT Dallas?
I chose this school because of my close proximity to it with hopes of transferring to UT Austin. But fortunately, this school has completely surpassed all of my expectations. In just one year I realized how much this school has to offer.

What has been your favorite or best UT Dallas experience so far?
My best experience has been going to Alternative Spring Break. I got to go to a state park and fix miles and miles of trails so that a shopping mall would not be erected its place. We were a group of six, but in just one week I got to make such an impact.

What did you learn about college life that you didn’t know before?
I realized how important it is to make good connections. In high school, just making grades was enough to get me by. I realized in college, that grades are a lot more subjective and that getting to know your teachers is a lot more important than it used to be.

What do you like to do to unwind after class?
I love to bake. I LOVE my apartment to smell like cookies or brownies. It is a really fun pastime with great rewards.
