Do you live on campus? If yes, what do you like about living on your own?
Yes, I live on campus. I like living so close to the school because it allows me to be more active in campus life, while still being independent.

List something unique about yourself.
My birthday is on Christmas day.
Why did you decide to become a First-Year Leader?
I want to encourage freshman to become active on campus because I believe that active students will help UT Dallas reach its full potential.
What advice do you have for the freshman class coming into UT Dallas?
Get involved immediately. Most of the student organizations have recruiting events during the first few weeks, so it is a good idea to go to several of these meetings to get an overview of the organizations. (They give free food too!)
What do you wish you did during your freshman year that you didn’t?
I wish I had made more of an effort to meet other students in my field of study. I took several upper-level classes freshman year, and I wish I had gotten to know students in my larger upper-level classes, rather than just talking to other students in my smaller classes. Because my area of study is one of the smallest, I have classes with many of the same students. As a result, it is helpful to get to know everyone.
What do you like about UT Dallas?
For a public school, UT Dallas is very small. The administration is dedicated to making UT Dallas a better University with more active student involvement, so they are open and friendly to students who want to make a difference.
Why did you decide to attend UT Dallas?
As a young school, UT Dallas offers many opportunities. It is easy to become a leader at UT Dallas. I saw that I could quickly become active on campus and pursue my interests.
What has been your favorite/best UT Dallas experience so far?
I interned at the Supreme Court through the Bill Archer Fellows Program. This experience gave me hands-on experience of the information and theories that I learned in my government classes.
What did you learn about college life that you didn’t know before?
Having to keep my own calendar can be confusing! I have realized that I have to remember to write everything down so I don’t forget anything important.
What do you like to do to unwind after class?
After class, I like to spend time with my friends and relax. I also like to spend some time reading after a busy day.
