State Employee Charitable Campaign 2009

Pledge Forms & Brochure

Tips to Help You Complete Your SECC Pledge Form

There are two ways to participate in this year’s State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC):

1.) by making a one-time check or cash gift

2.) through payroll deduction.

Easy-to-follow instructions are printed on the back of each form. Campaign representatives assigned to each school and department will be able to answer your questions. Contact Charlie Salomon (972-883-4131) to find out the name of the person assigned to your school or department. You also may call the main number for Human Resources Management at 972-883-2221 or send an email to secc@utdallas.edu for assistance.

One-time Gifts (Check OR Cash)…

A completed pledge form must accompany each check or cash gift. Fill in all appropriate blanks, including the institution’s name (The University of Texas at Dallas), so your gift may be counted as part of the total raised by the UT Dallas SECC 2009 drive. Make checks payable to "State Employee Charitable Campaign." When making a gift by check, keep the pink copy, then mail the white and yellow copies, along with your check, to "Human Resources Management, AD10" by Oct. 30, 2009. When making a cash gift, complete your pledge form by Oct. 30, 2009, then call Charlie Salomon at 972-883-4131 and he will pick up your cash gift and pledge form.

Payroll Deduction...

A completed pledge form must accompany each payroll deduction gift. Fill in all appropriate blanks, including the institution’s name (The University of Texas at Dallas) so your gift may be counted as part of the total raised by the UT Dallas SECC 2009 drive.

Payroll deductions must be for 12 months. Faculty on nine-month assignments can select payroll deductions for nine months, and faculty on a 12-month pay option will have 12 monthly deductions. There is no one-time payroll deduction.

Deductions will be taken once a month. Biweekly employees will have deductions taken from the first paycheck of the month. Gifts cannot be split into 24 payments on the SECC form.

Deductions will be processed against the first check issued in January 2010. The SECC deductions will be the last deductions taken prior to any direct deposit of pay to ensure that all mandatory insurance and retirement deductions are processed accordingly.

Contributions can be made to as many as 6 different charities, with a $2 minimum for each charity selected.

Contributions will not be tax-deferred in the payroll system for either FIT or FICA taxes.

Employees who wish to cancel their contribution must do so in writing. Refunds will not be processed for terminating employees.

When making a gift through payroll deduction, keep the pink copy, then mail the white and yellow copies to Human Resources Management, AD10 by Oct. 30, 2009.
