Beginning Robotics

Ages: 10-14 years old
Description: This two-week half day camp is an introduction to robotics using the LEGO Mindstorms System. Learn to build and program LEGO robots for a competition at the end of the week. This is perfect preparation for competing in the FIRST LEGO League competition in the fall.

Advanced Robotics
Date: July 8 - July 12, 2013
Time: 9am - 4pm
Ages: 12-16 years old
Description: During this week long camp participants will learn how to build and program a Tetrix robot. This w ill help students successfully compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competition next fall and spring.

Solar Car Camp
Date: June 17 - July 12, 2013
Time: 9am - 4pm
Ages: 13-17 years old
Description: During this 4-week camp we will be building a solar car to go on a 100 mile road trip. During this intensive engineering course students will learn about solar power, battery power, software, and mechanical design as we put together a solar car that the students will be able to drive safely on the roadways. This camp is intended for students who are interested in engineering as a career.
Cost: $1200 OR two installments of $600 and $600 each (A processing fee of $50.00 will be added to the first installment)Registration Deadline: May 31,2013

Quad Copter Camp
Date: July 15 - August 9, 2013
Time: 9am - 4pm
Ages: 13-17 years old
Description: During this 4-week camp students will be introduced to some of the premier schools at the University of Texas at Dallas. First they will work with the school of management to develop a business plan for an immerging technology, quad copters, small unmanned aerial systems (SUAS). Then they will create and modify a quad copter to fit the business need with help from the engineering school. And, finally work on a marketing plan using graphic arts. The final project will be presented to a panel of experts for evaluation.

College Journey Camp 4 Girls (Middle School Girls)
Date: June 23 - June 28, 2013
Ages: girls entering grades 7-8
Description: During this resident program, girls are encouraged to let their imaginations come alive as they learn how they can use their math and science skills to change the world..
Cost:$350/girl. All expenses are included in the cost (including 2 t-shirts, College Journey patch, meals, evening activities and housing). Scholarships are available (application required).Registration Deadline: May 31,2013

College Journey Camp 4 Girls (High School Girls)

Classroom Robotics Training (Grades 4-8)

Who: Coaches and Teachers
Description: During this week-long training you will be introduced to the LEGO Mindstorms Robotics system. The training is designed for teachers who want to bring robotics to their classroom, or coaches who want to start or become better coaches in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competition in the fall.

Description: During this week-long training you will be introduced to the TETRIX Robotics system. You will also learn tips and tricks for competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competition, and learn how to use TETRIX in the classroom. We will be using the RobotC software system.
