Our primary goals are to raise awareness about the importance of personal safety and healthy relationships. Also, we seek to provide confidential communication, emotional support and resources to survivors who have experienced a recent or past incident of sexual assault. MissionThe mission of the sexual assault prevention committee, UniTeD Against Sexual Assault, is to establish and maintain awareness of sexual assault through programming that educates and provides opportunities that promote awareness, prevention, and intervention for The University of Texas at Dallas students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other community members. Message from the PresidentDear Members of the UTD Campus Community, The University of Texas at Dallas is committed to providing an environment in which our students, faculty and staff can study, live and work free from any and all types of sexual misconduct. Through proactive education, prevention and intervention, we will build a community of mutual respect and will not tolerate exceptions of any kind. UTD offers continuing prevention and educational programs that are aimed at creating an awareness of these issues. Rape prevention, crime prevention and personal safety programs begin at freshman orientation and occur throughout the year for the entire campus community. Outdoor emergency telephones are conveniently installed all over the campus, providing direct contact with the Campus Police at all times. Walking escorts are provided by security and police officers 24 hours a day. All of these enhancements will help ensure a safe, supportive environment in which UTD students can prosper academically and socialize appropriately. I urge every person on campus to share with the Offices of Student Affairs or Campus Police any information that may help us to deal with these issues. Please use the resources provided on this site as a tool to help yourself or someone you know who is in need. Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to keep UTD a safe place. Dr. David E. Daniel, President
