The Student Organization Center (SOC) helps UT Dallas students become more connected to campus life. We provide programming and services for student organizations and for students interested in participating in the many activities at UT Dallas. Student Organization Forum
The Student Organization Forum is the representative body for registered student organizations within the SOC. Its primary functions are:
- Oversee the allocation of funds to registered student organizations
- Manage the communication of University-wide policies to student organization officers
- Encourage and promote student participation in University activities
- Provide leadership development and promote growth opportunities to student organization members
- Advise and recommend on student organization issues
- Disseminate and exchange information among organization

Upcoming Events
SOC Winter Hours
Soc will begin winter hours on Thursday, December 13, 2012. Our winter hours are 9am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-5pm on Friday. We will return to normal office hours on January 14, 2013.
Spring Fiscal Reports
The period to submit Spring Fiscal reports will be January 14, 2013-February 14, 2013. Reports are submitted online through OrgSync. Organizations that were not registered in the Fall 2012 semester are not required to submit a Spring Fiscal report at this time. Failure to submit the fiscal report may result in loss of access to funding and jeopardize student organization registration.
SOC Meeting
The first SOC meeting of the Spring semester will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013 7pm in the Science Learning Center (SLC) 1.102. All registered student organizations must send a minimum of one organization representative to attend the meeting. Failure to send one representative to the meeting will result in the loss of funding. Each representative may sign in for a maximum of two organizations.
Risk Management Workshop #1

Join the Student Organization Center for Expecting the Unexpected: Risk Management Workshop.
The two risk management representatives that were listed on the organization registration form have the responsibility of attending this workshop.
All 9 risk management quizzes must be completed prior to attending the risk management workshop. Those risk management representatives that have not completed the quizzes prior to attending the workshop will not be permitted entry and will have to sign up for another session.
On workshop day, we encourage each of you to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the workshop. Be prepared to stay the duration of the workshop, and be prepared to show your Comet Card or another form of ID at check in.
Late arrivals, those arriving after the stated start time, will not be permitted entry into the workshop, will not receive credit for the session, and will have to sign up for another session.
The Office of Emergency Management coordinates campus disaster response and recovery activities.
