Alternative Spring Break
The Office of Student Volunteerism hosts Alternative Spring Break (ASB), a weeklong immersion program where students devote their spring break to perform community service, learn about critical social issues, and develop leadership skills.
Explore the WOW! Externship/Job Shadowing Program
Explore the World of Work through an externship/job shadowing experience during your spring break. Get a firsthand look at the workplace in a career of your choice, make valuable networking contacts and have the opportunity to see how classroom learning can be applied to real world situations.
First-Year Leader Program
First-Year Leaders have the opportunity to team up with a UNIV 1010 instructor to teach the course. They are students who have been trained to offer educational outreach to freshmen. Their mentoring helps new UT Dallas students succeed in the classroom and elsewhere on campus.
International Week
International Week celebrates UT Dallas' rich diversity of culture by providing an array of international events, from a diversity dinner to dance parties. Passport to the World showcases a wide array of culture through food, music and much more. The International Talent Show showcases classical dances, musical performances and other student performances from around the globe.
Major Investigation
A program for second semester freshmen that addresses issues related to choice of major and career path. Topics include:
- Choosing a major
- Discovering your true fit
- Exploring what's Important to you
- Tapping into resources
