2009-2011 Staff Council Nominees - District 5
Chris Dickson: I joined UT Dallas in February 2004 after transferring from UT Tyler. I have served the UT Dallas Police Department as a patrol officer, Detective, Interim Corporal, Sergeant, Detective-Sergeant, and Lieutenant during my tenure. I received an Associate of Science degree from Panola College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communications from UT Tyler. I have served the police department as Ask-A-Cop Program Coordinator, Field Training Officer, Firearms Safety Officer, Assistant Armorer, Advisor to the UTDPD Explorer Post, Director for the Department's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program, and Community Liaison Officer. I am a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), International Association of Campus Law Enforcement (IACLEA), Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA), and the National Association of Property Recovery Investigators (NAPRI). I was elected President of the UT Dallas Staff Council and served in that capacity from September 2006 to February 2009. Additionally, I serve as the UT Dallas representative to the UT System Employee Advisory Council in Austin. I received the President's Award as a result of his participation in the 2006 Corporate Challenge which benefited the Special Olympics. I was also honored as the UT Dallas Police Department's "Officer of the Year" for 2005-2006 and awarded the UT Dallas Police Department's "Supervisor of the Year" for 2006-2007. Additionally, I was chosen as the UT Dallas Business Affairs Outstanding Employee of the 3rd Quarter in 2007. I am the recipient of the UT System Police Meritorious Conduct Award and several Police Commendations. I am a graduate of the FBI Texas Command College. I am currently a Lieutenant, serving as Commander of the Police Department’s Office of Field Operations which is comprised of the Patrol Division and Student Patrol Division.
