The CARE Awards is established by the Staff Council and approved by the President and his Cabinet to honor outstanding staff. This program will recognize staff who have demonstrated superior performance, offered outstanding customer service, and performed acts which have enhanced the image of the University. A maximum of six staff members are eligible to receive the CARE Award twice yearly. They may be nominated by fellow staff, faculty, visitors, and/or customers of the university.

An Individual Nominee Must:

• Be a regular employee, appointed at least 50% for at least 4 1/2 months
• Have been employed beyond the probation period, usually six months
• Be a staff member (non-faculty) at the level of Director or below

Award Presentations

The CARE Awards are presented by the President twice yearly. The staff members receiving awards will also be recognized at the Staff Council Forum each fall and in the various UTD publications.

How To Nominate

Staff members may be nominated by faculty, staff, students, visitors, and customers, etc. Click here to go to the Nomination Form. You may fill out the form, print it, and submit it to Staff Council, Mail Station MP10 or email it to jlm093000@utdallas.edu (Jami Miller). The nomination deadline for spring has been extended to May 31 and the October 31 deadline remains the same for fall. Nominations will be reviewed and held in confidence by a committee appointed by the President. This committee will be comprised of a representative from each Staff Council district.
