Census Date

The financial aid census date for the Fall 2015 term was Wednesday September 9. This is our census date for the entire semester, including classes starting later in the term. (The Office of the Registrar has different census dates than does the Office of Financial Aid.) To be considered for financial aid eligibility you must have been registered for classes on our census date. To view other important academic dates, see the academic calendar.

Renewal Requirements

Some financial aid programs have specific requirements for renewal. If you have been awarded aTEXAS Grant, Top 10% Scholarship or the B-On-Time Loan, be aware that these Texas programs have academic progress standards that are different from our regular Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) rules. In addition, UTD's Tuition Promise program also has unique SAP requirements.

Top 10% Scholarship and the B-On-Time Loan programs are no longer being funded for new participants.  Students who have previously been awarded these funds and continue to meet the program's eligibility requirements are still being funded.

Manage Your Money

Financial aid funds are disbursed in lump sums. This makes budgeting a critical part of most students' lives. The federal government provides a great tool for creating a budget.

Student Employment

Whether or not you have been offered funding from Federal Work-Study or Texas Work-Study, if you are looking for part-time employment while attending UT Dallas, visit the Career Center. Both on-campus and off-campus part-time jobs are available.

Post-Graduation Outcomes

Outcomes is an online tool for students and their families to make informed decisions about their academic careers. Students can view occupational outcomes, data on employment earnings and average student loan debt for graduates by degree major and school.

If you register for classes at another school at the same time you are attending UTD:

  • If you are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant program, you can receive this grant at only one school at a time.
  • You must notify UTD's Office of Financial Aid if you are receiving federal or state grants or loans from another school while attending UT Dallas.
  • UTD will process financial aid for your registered UT Dallas classes. We do not process financial aid for classes taken at other schools.
  • For academic requirements regarding the transferability of off-campus coursework, see your academic advisor.
