Bryce Jordan, flutist and musicologist, was the first President of UT Dallas. Northwood Woman's Club Scholarship Accepting ApplicationsJr, Sr or GradAllAcadYear 12 - 13March 23, 2012 Northwood Woman's Club raises funds through annual charitable events and distributes these funds along with tens of thousands of volunteer hours to organizations that provide much needed services to women and children in Dallas and Collin counties. The organization established the scholarship at UTD in 1979 with the goal of funding two full tuition scholarships annually. The members remain dedicated to providing funds to support this scholarship. Application Robert Plant Armstrong Scholarship ClosedGraduateAHAcadYear 11 - 12March 12, 2010 The privately endowed Armstrong Fund in the School of Arts and Humanities at UT Dallas permits the graduate program to award a few modest fellowships each academic year. In contrast to Teaching Assistantships, which involve part-time work for the school and are based solely on students' academic record, these awards are based on financial need as well as academic merit. Thus, applicants must provide the fellowship committee information on their incomes as well as estimated expenses. While the awards are direct payments to recipients, the school requires Armstrong fellows to study full time and expects that they use the grants toward university tuition. The UT Dallas School of Management is participating in the 2010 Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation Graduate Student Scholarship Program, which awards scholarships of $10,000 each. This year student applications are due in Room 4.616 in the Dean's Office no later than 5:00 PM, February 26th, 2010. Late applications will not be accepted.
The Foundation's mission is twofold. First, they recognize and honor the historic contributions that business men and women have made to the state of Texas by holding an Annual Awards Dinner in October each year. Second, they sow seeds for the future and help underwrite the promise demonstrated by Texas business students by funding a scholarship award program. All scholarship recipients must agree to be present at the annual dinner in order to receive their award. The Foundation is interested in finding individuals with the potential to have an impact on Texas business throughout their careers. They seek applicants with the following qualifications:
The Selection Process The UT Dallas School of Management selects three students from our pool of applicants to nominate to the Foundation. We hope to select nominees who represent the best and brightest graduate students currently enrolled in our school. Applicants must complete the application form and the interview questionnaire. The three students nominated by the school then compete in a second round of the scholarship process run by the Foundation itself. Sometime in late April or early May, the Foundation contacts our nominees directly to schedule interviews. They then usually make the final selections by the end of May. Participation in the final round of the selection process does not guarantee that one of our nominees will be awarded a scholarship.
