Families and Guests of Graduation Candidates

What to Expect at Commencement

  • The Commencement Ceremonies are held in the UT Dallas Activity Center.
  • The Activity Center will open 45 minutes prior to each Commencement Ceremony.
  • Please arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the Commencement Ceremony begins.
  • Each guest will need a ticket to enter the Commencement Ceremony (please see information regarding Children).
  • Graduates will cross the stage from right to left.
  • The UT Dallas faculty and staff are proud of our formal ceremony and we ask that fog horns and noise makers be left at home.

Disability Services

The Commencement Ceremonies will be projected on a large screen behind the stage with captions for the hearing impaired.  Seating for guests with a disability or special needs is located on the main floor of the Commencement Ceremonies. Graduation candidates: please contact the Office of Student AccessAbility if you need to make any special accommodations for yourself.

Graduation Photos and Videos

Flash Photography will take photographs at each Commencement Ceremony. They will send each graduate proofs of his/her Commencement Ceremony pictures as well as ordering information.  You may contact them at 214-443-9393 for more information.

DVDs of Commencement may be purchased through HiEd.
