I Heart UT Dallas!!!

The fourth annual I Heart UT Dallas Health Awareness Fair will be on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 9:30am-12pm on the UT Dallas SU Mall. In the event of poor weather, the location will be the UT Dallas Activity Center at the same time.

Activities of the fair will include body fat composition readings, yoga workshops, stress management consultations, information about nutrition, displays for keeping safe while staying fit, and much more while RadioUTD keeps your blood moving with some great tunes.

The race starts at 9 and proceeds benefit the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation to find a cure for Type I diabetes.

Spring 2012's event will mark the fourth annual I Heart UT Dallas health fair, the third 5K event, and our second partnership with Delta Epsilon Psi. Last year, we had over 100 attendees and lots of great information provided by various on-campus departments and student organizations about health.

History of a Tradition

I Heart UT Dallas began in the spring of 2009 as a Heart Health Awareness Fair in the Student Union. The following year, a group of students approached Student Government about adding a fundraising component for relief efforts in Haiti and the 5K "Hearts for Haiti" was added to the health fair. In 2011, Student Government and Delta Epsilon Psi collaborated to bring a general health fair and annual 5K supporting a local charity. The partnership continues through 2012 as the fair continues to expand.

Booths at the event included healthy snacks, personal trainers, representatives from dining hall services and the activity center to educate students on how to lead healthy lives.
