Note-Taking Facts for Faculty
In-class Announcement
Faculty may e-mail the following announcement or read it in class to locate a volunteer note taker. Whichever way you choose, the student's confidentiality must be maintained.
Peer note taker needed. The Office of Student AccessAbility is recruiting a volunteer to take notes in this class. No extra time outside of class is required.
Qualifications for a volunteer peer note taker:
- Has legible handwriting and reasonably well-organized notes.
- Plans to attend class regularly.
- Is willing to have their notes copied or is willing to use a special carbonless paper that makes two copies as you write.
Once you have identified a volunteer note taker, please put the student needing assistance in contact with the volunteer. The student registered with our office is responsible for working with the volunteer note-taker to get copies of the student’s notes.
