Athletics

Comets compete in teams sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball as well as individual sports such as golf, tennis and cross country. Already one of the larger universities in the American Southwest Conference and in all of NCAA Division III, the Comets have high expectations for continued success.

Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team

The Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team reviews behavioral incidents and ensures a systematic response to students whose behavior may be disruptive or harmful to themselves or the UT Dallas community and to assist in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of students and other members of the UT Dallas community.

Career Center

The Career Center provides résumé and cover-letter reviews, career workshops and an online job-search database. The Career Center also helps students find internships, for the summer or the school year.

Comet Card

The Comet Card is UT Dallas’ student ID card. All students are required to have one. It can be picked up at the Info Depot with proof of identification and UT Dallas registration.

The UT Dallas Student Health Insurance Office provides unique and confidential health insurance advising services for students. Health insurance is available to all students at UT Dallas, domestic and international.

At the Info Depot students can pick up their Comet Card, obtain discounted passes to events, receive free notarization, purchase stamps and put money on their Comet Card.

International Student Services

The International Student Services Office provides international students individual advising, immigration counseling, student health insurance advising and orientation programs, and offers international students a chance to take part in a variety of U.S. cultural experiences.

Judicial Affairs

The Office of Judicial Affairs promotes academic integrity. Judicial Affairs is responsible for investigating allegations of scholastic dishonesty and implementing the discipline process.

Living Learning Communities

Living Learning Communities allow small groups of select freshmen who share common academic objectives, goals, and interests to develop a support network with other students, peer advisors and faculty and staff members. Communities are built around academic interests, such as pre-health, pre-law or service learning, with a faculty or staff advisor who facilitates distinctive academic and social opportunities that help students extend learning outside the classroom.

Recreational Sports

Recreational Sports provides UT Dallas with diverse recreational programs to enhance the overall educational experience. The Activity Center contains a state-of-the-art fitness center, racquetball courts, squash courts, basketball courts, a multi-purpose room, an indoor swimming pool, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, softball fields, and baseball fields.

Temoc, the UT Dallas mascotSpirit Squads

Temoc, UT Dallas' official mascot, looks for any and every opportunity to cheer on fellow Comets.

The Power Dancers, the official dance team of UT Dallas, bust a move in hip-hop, jazz, pom and other dance styles for varsity basketball games.

The UT Dallas Cheerleaders cheer for volleyball and men and women’s basketball games. Both groups make numerous appearances at UT Dallas alumni events, Freshman Orientation, Scholar’s Day, Student Government activities and many other civic events in the Richardson and Dallas areas.

Student Counseling Center

The Student Counseling Center programs help students maintain emotional well-being necessary for success. Help is given to students to manage academic and personal demands more effectively. The Counseling Center's professional staff of licensed psychologists and counselors is available by appointment or in times of emergency. All counseling is confidential.

Student Government

Student Government is the official representative body and voice of UT Dallas students. Students have the opportunity to participate through serving on committees, running for office or voting in elections. Student Government provides many free services for students, including legal counsel, an online book exchange, and a Student Business Alliance, which offers students discounts at participating area businesses.

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center provides treatment for acute illnesses and minor injures to currently enrolled UT Dallas students at minimal cost. The center also provides health education and preventive medicine.

Student Media

The award-winning student newspaper of UT Dallas, The UTD Mercury, publishes bi-weekly on Mondays throughout the school year. The newspaper offers paid positions for writers, editors, page designers and photographers.

Radio UTD, the student-run internet radio station, features an eclectic and freeform mix of music and original programming including talk, poetry and live coverage of UT Dallas sports. Tune in to the station that College Music Journal nominated among the best internet radio stations in the United States.

Student Union

The Student Union is the place for students to hang out, grab a bite and relax. It houses most of the student service offices. Open seven days a week, it includes a TV lounge, study lounges, pool tables, ping-pong tables, a video arcade, the Comet Café, The Pub and an array of rooms that can be reserved for organization meetings.

The Student Union and Activities Advisory Board (SUAAB) is a student leadership group that offers a variety of events that promote student participation including the UT Dallas Homecoming dance, Casino Night, Springapalooza, movies, comedians, concerts, pep rallies and more.

The PUB

The Pub is a UT Dallas-run restaurant on the upper level of the Student Union. Students can enjoy a burger, play pool, watch TV and even get Starbucks coffee. The Pub hosts a variety of events, has an outdoor patio, and houses campus station Radio UTD.
