Athletics
Comets compete in teams sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball, as well as individual sports such as golf, tennis and cross country. Already one of the larger universities in the American Southwest Conference and in all of NCAA Division III, the Comets have high expectations for continued success.

Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team
The Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team reviews behavioral incidents and ensures a systematic response to students whose behavior may be disruptive or harmful to themselves or the UT Dallas community. The team assists in protecting the health, safety and welfare of students and other members of the UT Dallas community.

Career Center
The Career Center offers a variety of services for students at all stages of their job search process. Licensed professional career counselors provide assessments and mock interview training, and a fulltime resume editor is available to help prepare resumes and cover letters. The center also hosts workshops and job expos, has an online job search database and helps students find internships.

Comet Card
The Comet Card is UT Dallas’ student ID card. All students are required to have a Comet Card. It can be picked up at the Comet Center with proof of identification and UT Dallas registration.

Comet Center
At the Comet Center, students can pick up their Comet Card, obtain discount passes to venues and events, receive free notarization services, and purchase stamps. Students can also purchase discount tickets to off-campus movies, museums and other activities. It's also the spot to join the Experience Dallas program and pick up a free DART pass.

Fraternity and Sorority Life
UT Dallas is home to 17 national Greek fraternities and sororities. These organizations provide students with friendship, guidance and leadership opportunities that last beyond college.

Part of the Student Health Center, the UT Dallas Student Health Insurance Office provides unique and confidential health insurance advising services for students. Health insurance is available to all students at UT Dallas.

Housing Operations
The Department of Housing Operations has oversight of the University’s residence halls and apartments. The department oversees the University’s relationship with its property management company, reviews management, maintenance and financial reports and establishes University housing policies and procedures. Housing Operations is also responsible for the Student Union, the Comet Center and the Comet Card office. The department also manages renovation and construction projects within the Student Affairs division, including in the Student Services Building, the Student Union and all University housing.

International Student Services provides international students individual advising, immigration counseling and orientation programs, and offers international students a chance to take part in a variety of U.S. cultural experiences.

Living Learning Communities
Living Learning Communities allow small groups of freshmen who share common academic objectives, goals, and interests to develop a support network with other students, peer advisors and faculty and staff members. Communities are built around academic interests with a faculty or staff advisor who facilitates distinctive academic and social opportunities that help students extend learning outside the classroom.

Recreational Sports
Recreational Sports provides recreational programs to enhance the overall educational experience. The Activity Center contains a state-of-the-art fitness center, racquetball courts, squash courts, basketball courts, a multi-purpose room, an indoor swimming pool, a rock climbing wall, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, softball fields and baseball fields.

Part of Student Transition Programs, the Senior Year Experience (SRYE) helps seniors celebrate their successes and feel better prepared to take the next steps toward achieving their life goals. Spirit Squads
Temoc, UT Dallas' official mascot, looks for any and every opportunity to cheer on fellow Comets.
The Power Dancers, the official dance team of UT Dallas, bust a move in hip-hop, jazz, pom and other dance styles for varsity basketball games.
The UT Dallas cheerleaders cheer for volleyball and men's and women’s basketball games. Both groups make numerous appearances at UT Dallas alumni events, Freshman Orientation, Scholar’s Day, Student Government activities and many other civic events in the Richardson and Dallas areas.

Programs in the Student Counseling Center help students maintain the emotional well-being necessary for success. Help is given to students to manage academic and personal demands more effectively. The Counseling Center's professional staff of licensed psychologists and counselors is available by appointment or in times of emergency. All counseling is confidential.

Student Government
Student Government is the official representative body and voice of UT Dallas students. Students have the opportunity to participate through serving on committees, running for office or voting in elections. Student Government provides many free services for students, including legal counsel, an online book exchange and the Comet Discount Program, which offers students discounts at participating area businesses.

Student Health Center
The Student Health Center provides quality care for acute and stabilized chronic illnesses, minor injuries, women’s care, and preventative healthcare. Visits are free to currently enrolled students, and care is provided by a staff of licensed, registered and certified professionals. There are nominal fees for lab work, medications and certain procedures.

Student Media
The Mercury, UT Dallas’ award-winning student newspaper, publishes bi-weekly on Mondays throughout the school year. The newspaper offers paid positions for writers, editors, page designers and photographers.
Radio UTD, the student-run internet radio station, features an eclectic and freeform mix of music and original programming including talk, poetry and coverage of UT Dallas sports. Tune in to the station that College Music Journal nominated among the best internet radio stations in the United States.
A Modest Proposal is a student publication that focuses on student life, global politics, arts, events and social commentary. A Modest Proposal publishes eight months out of the year (four in fall, four in spring).
UTD-TV broadcasts news, entertainment shows and other online media content produced by students, staff and faculty.

The Student Organization Center provides information about student organizations and helps students connect to campus life.

Student Transition Programs
The Student Transition Programs office provides programming, services, involvement opportunities and websites specific to the transfer, sophomore and senior student populations. Whether a new transfer student, somewhere in between or a soon-to-be college graduate, the office includes services and support staff to help UT Dallas students adjust, get connected, stay focused and make a more seamless transition from one classification to the next. Included in Student Transition Programs are Transfer Student Services, Sophomore Year Experience and Senior Year Experience.

The Student Union is the place for students to hang out, grab a bite and relax. Open seven days a week, it includes a TV lounge, study lounges, pool tables, ping-pong tables, a video arcade, the Comet Café, The Pub and an array of rooms that can be reserved for organization meetings.
