Feb. 1, 2016 — Carnival and Mardi Gras are celebrated in many countries. Some of the most popular celebrations take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Nice, France; Venice, Italy; Cologne, Germany; Quebec, Canada; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Trinidad and Tobago.
Jan. 28, 2016 — WHO Director-General stated that Zika virus is now spreading explosively in the Americas. Cases have been reported in 23 countries and territories in the region.
