Signs of Depression

When determining if you or someone you may know may be suffering from depression, five or more symptoms of depression should be present for at least two weeks. If at any point in time you feel that you or someone you know may be suffering from depression and show less than five symptoms, do not hesitate to seek assistance if you feel it is necessary.
- Diminished ability to think or concentrate/indecisiveness
- Depressed mood occurring most of the day
- Fatigue or loss of energy
- Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
- Insomnia or increased sleeping
- Restlessness or slowing down of body movements
- Marked diminished interest or pleasure in all or almost all activities
- Significant weight loss when not dieting, weight gain, or decrease/increase in appetite
- Recurrent thoughts of death, recurrent thoughts of suicide, or a suicide attempt
