CHAMPS Computer Science Camp
(CHallenging Algorithmics and Mathematics in Problem Solving)
CHAMPS Summer Camp is designed to teach problem-solving skills and to interest middle school students in computer science. Based on a successful $2.7 million project funded by the National Science Foundation, CHAMPS emphasizes hands-on activities in which students use computers to create animated story worlds. Innovation Opportunity Camp
UT Dallas' Innovation Opportunity Camp provides high school age students to learn in a fun environment about innovation, teamwork, presentation and communication skill. During the camp, students will learn business concepts from UT Dallas entrepreneurship faculty, professional investors and entrepreneurs. Students will work in a small group mentored by an entrepreneur, graduate students or a business teacher from local high schools to craft an elevator pitch, develop a business plan and present to a panel of judges who are investors and entrepreneurs. Prizes will be awarded. Students will also have an opportunity to apply the concept they learned to a simulation game and other recreational activities. Our Innovation in Action will take students on field trips to tour local innovation companies and world class laboratories on UT Dallas campus.
