Why did you decide to become a First Year Leader (FYL)?

To teach young bloods how it’s done.

Is there anything you wish you did during your freshman year that you didn’t?

There was this girl I saw one day. She was walking in these short shorts, the ones where you can see the pockets, and just a simple t-shirt. She had her hair twirled into a messy bun, and this squinty look on her face since it was so bright outside. She walked right past me, our eyes connected for a second, and I wish I talked to her. I would’ve picked her up in my mustang, drive to this local eatery I know of that features local spoken word artists. We’d eat, drink, laugh, cry, and step out into the night refreshed with a big, full moon shining down on us. She’d let me drive her to this hilltop, overlooking sporadic lights, and in the distance would be the Dallas skyline. She’d look up into my eyes with a glistening smile in hers, a dimple would form on her left cheek, and I’d lean in ninety percent where she would meet me with those sweet lips of hers.
Just kidding.
I wish I bought deodorant.

What advice do you have for the incoming freshman class?

Believe in something. If you don’t have something to believe in, find one.
