Why did you decide to attend UT Dallas?
It was close to home and I knew that it was a relatively smaller University.

What do you like about UT Dallas?

It is a very welcoming environment and there is always something going on around campus.

List some clubs and organizations you are or have been involved in at UT Dallas.

Pakistani Student Association (PSA), Muslim Student Association (MSA), Middle Eastern Student Association (MESA), Ahmadiyya Muslim Student Association, French Student Association (FSA)

What has been your favorite/best experience at UT Dallas so far?

Being able to take some teaching classes and doing fieldwork for those teaching classes; also Welcome Week, of course.

What did you learn about college life that you didn’t know before?

There are so many opportunities to get free food.

What do you like to do to unwind after class?

Hang out with friends, get something to eat.

Why did you decide to become a First Year Leader (FYL)?

It gives me an opportunity to teach a class and get a first-hand experience of making lesson plans and having the ability to give out grades to others and give them knowledge about something.

Is there anything you wish you did during your freshman year that you didn’t?

I wish I could have been a part of more organizations, like Jumpstart, during my freshman year. I wish I could have been more involved.

What advice do you have for the incoming freshman class?

It is important to give yourself some relaxation time. College is not all about studying – it is important, but you should have a day or an afternoon set out at least once a week just to relax and not think about studying and homework. Also, your world will not end if you get an A- or a B in a class; life will move on, and so will you.
