Printing / Scanning / Faxing

Corporate sponsors and UT Dallas faculty, students and staff have access to most of the HP room resources located at SPN 1.203.

Printing

The HP desktop printers are not available to guests. If needed, please contact UTDesign staff.

SPNHPLaserJet and SPNHPColor2 can be used only by students

• Manual duplex

• Letter size (tray 2) or tabloid size paper (tray 3)

• Located in SPN 1.203

• Cost of printing: 4 cents black and white, 10 cents color print

• Each print counts toward $10 ECS limit

Connecting to the printers:

1. Login to CometNet.

2. Locate printer by entering the following in the search box of the Windows start menu.

3. From the list of printers, select SPNHPLaserJet or SPNHPcolor2.

4. The printer will install.

HP Plotter

Faculty and staff can use the plotter only upon request for a fee  (please contact Nancy Finch for a quote).

For students

• Page size 30”x40”

• One poster print per project per semester

• Poster file to be submitted to course director for approval

Photocopying

• Photocopying is not available.

• Alternatively, everyone may scan documents to an email address.

Scanning

• Scanning is available on the Ricoh photocopier

• No limit on scanning

• Scan one-sided, two-sided, or mixed (batch)

• Located in SPN 1.203

Scanning on the Ricoh photocopier

1. Place documents face up in the document feeder or face down on the glass.

2. Press “Manual Entry” to enter email address(es) to send scanned file.

3. Enter subject line for the email.

4. Press “Start.” If manually feeding pages (placing on glass) or scanning a mixed batch, press the # key to complete the job.

Faxing

• Faxing is available on the Ricoh photocopier

• No restrictions on faxing

• Fax one-sided, two-sided, or mixed (batch)

• Located in SPN 1.203

Faxing on the Ricoh photocopier

1. Place documents face up in the document feeder or face down on the glass.

2. Press “Manual Entry” or “On Hook” to enter fax number.

3. Press “Start” to begin transmission.
