As of March 1, 2008, mileage reimbursement rates are now 50.5 cents per mile. This rate is expected to hold through the entire fiscal year.
Also, when the Texas Building and Procurement Commission solicited bids for airfare contracts, *none* of the solicited airlines gave an official response. American Airlines is voluntarily agreeing to extend last year's state contract rates at roughly a 10% markup, but has no contractual obligation to do so. At this time, UTD recommends that its travelers continue to use Carlson Wagonlit (CWT) whenever possible, and try to book 14 or more days in advance to increase your chances of the best possible price. Carlson Wagonlit (CWT) has access to all the same information that you can find on the Internet, and is in the best position to secure refundable airfare.
As of September 1, 2007, the maximum per-diem allowed for travel within
the State of Texas remains the same:
- Maximum lodging rate: $85/night
- Maximum meals rate: $36/day
