The EH&S Department is responsible for the monitoring of gaseous emissions on the campus of UTDallas, in accordance with state and national emissions laws. Annual calculations are taken to determine type and amount of pollutants emitted from generators, paint shops, print services, laboratories, animal facilities, the automotive fleet and other emission facilities on campus.
Currently, UTD does not produce a high enough level of emissions to merit regulatory action or a government permit, as seen under Title 5 of the Clean Air Act. Third party experts are consulted for emission visability calculations, as well as for the management of generators on campus. These consultants maintain standardized equipment and work to ensure efficiency in UTD's emission generators.
