Hazardous Identification Labels The Office of Environmental Health and Safety is responsible for the collection and proper disposal of chemical waste, batteries, and other hazardous materials used in labs at UTD. To ensure that these tasks are performed safely and in an organized manner, certain procedures must be followed by anyone requiring a chemical pick-up. Chemical pick up requests are not intended to be used for radioactive disposal requests.

This short PowerPoint presentation demonstrates the proper way to request a pick up.

General Procedure:

Complete and attach a red content label to the waste container (locations of labels shown below).
Fill out, print, and attach to the waste container a request for pick up.

NOTE: When filling out these forms, content percentages must add up to 100% and chemical formulas may NOT be used.
