Serving Those Who Served

As the fall semester draws to a close and the winter break begins, the Veteran Services Center team would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the student veterans on campus.
The VSC has an important, rewarding and enjoyable purpose: we serve those who have served. Each day we meet student veterans in the center. We take great pleasure in learning their stories—from their time on active duty and the challenges of transitioning to the civilian world, to working toward their academic and career goals.
"Every person has their own story, their own experiences that make them who they are," said Melani Sherbet, administrative assistant in the center. "I like working in the Veteran Services Center because I have the opportunity to meet and interact with so many different people with varied stories. I enjoy hearing about how they came to UT Dallas, but also where they plan go next. I’m proud to assist those who have supported our country."
So from all of us in the Veteran Services Center to all the student veterans at UT Dallas, thank you for making our jobs so rewarding. Have a wonderful winter break, and we look forward to seeing you next semester!
