Events

Alternative Spring Break (Annually — March)

• Students, staff, and faculty join together and travel to sites across the United States to engage in volunteer service.
• The program currently consists of eight sites to choose from.
• This year's Alternative Spring Break trip was March 14-21, 2009.

Service Saturdays

• Students have the opportunity to volunteer their time and talent on the weekend.
• Participants assist with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Seniors Net Home Repairs, and North Texas Food Bank.

Special Events

• These events include Race for the Cure, Make a Difference Day, National Volunteer Week, toy drives, food drives, and Random Acts of Kindness Week.
• The Office of Student Volunteerism partners with numerous student groups to promote special charitable causes and special events on campus such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Viva Volunteer (Annually — Fall)

• Viva Volunteer gives students, staff and faculty the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteering while getting to know new friends and welcoming new students to UT Dallas.
• This all-campus service project is part of the fall Welcome Week.
