Scholarship Award
Eligibility Criteria
- Plan to enroll or are enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Texas at Dallas
- Have satisfactorily completed at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate or 18 semester hours of graduate work of which a minimum of 12 undergraduate hours or 9 graduate hours must have been satisfactorily completed at UTD. Emphasis on women’s issues and/or community involvement benefiting women is desirable, but not necessary. Study in a traditionally underrepresented area for women is also of interest
- Have an overall and major grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0
- Are U.S. citizens, permanent non-residents, or on a student visa
- Are not currently receiving another scholarship from The University of Texas at Dallas
- Are not currently in default on a federal education loan or any UTD loans
- Students must submit a 200 word essay personally describing why they are seeking to be awarded the scholarship. Emphasis on women’s issues and/or community involvement benefiting women is desirable, but not necessary
- Special consideration will be given to applicants who focus their essay on: community service/volunteer work – particularly in areas of assistance for women
- A female student in a STEM field of study (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Passion for equality, diversity and inclusiveness for our campus, community and world
- Eligible applicants will be screened through the UTD scholarship committee. Scholarships are awarded during the spring semester
