Paula England is Professor of Sociology at Stanford University. Her research and teaching focus on how gender and class shape peoples’ work, family and sexual lives. Professor England is the author of Comparable Worth (1992) and has co-authored Households, Employment and Gender (1986) with George Farkas.

Dr.Ron Smyth from University of Toronto will discuss the diversity of both straight and gay/ lesbian speakers, phonetic output and his findings that 'verbal gaydar' is quite poor for both male & female speakers.
